For aspiring PMs: this is how one belies


From Ann Treneman's Parliamentary Sketch of David Miliband's statement to the House of Commons last Thursday (5th February):

'David Miliband was on good form. By this I mean pre-banana form. He hasn't been the same since his attempt to replace the Prime Minister was derailed by being photographed wielding that piece of soft fruit at the Labour conference. But now Mr Milibanana was making a comeback.'

Oh to think that one might have once possibly entertained the idea that the current Foreign Secretary might possibly have represented a credible alternative to Gordon Brown for PM. Although, let's be honest, even Mr Bean seems a credible alternative now...
